open Wed-Sun 12-16
The result of a workshop with Mkrtich Tonoyan, Yerevan, Darko Stojkov, Belgrade, Matthias Roth, Berlin, Stina Pehrsdotter and Niclas Hallberg, Eskilstuna.
During two weeks Formverk (art zone) has conducted a workshop with the theme of Military Art.
Military Art-concept was initiated by an Armenian artist, Alexander Melkonyan, where the meaning is to process reality and analyze what comes out of different country's military history, and every man's personal story and the impression of military action.
The exhibition presents personal interpretations of the meaning of Military Art.
We have worked alongside our own projects, using each other's experience and approached the concept with different artistic expressions.
The exhibition includes paintings, photography, installation and video, created especially for Formverk (art zone)'s place, where we took the opportunities to make site-specific works.
Mkrtich Tonoyan we came in contact with the summer of 2010 when we participated in the Watertower art festival in Sofia, Bulgaria, and participated in three group exhibitions.
Darko Stojkov we have been working with on some occasions, when we together conducted workshops in Serbia.
Matthias Roth is one of the initiators of the Berlin-based group Microwesten, which whom we had an exhibition in spring 2010.
