NOVA Nordic Video Art Network
Nordic Video Art Network NOVA is a new free web-based promotion platform dedicated for professional artists working with video, -media art and experimental cinema in Nordic countries. NOVA is launched for promoting Nordic artists internationally and to help artists to promote themselves. The aim is also to bring together 75 professional artists first from Iceland, Finland and Sweden and later 50 more artists from Norway and Denmark. This creates a big enough platform to be practical and informative, on the other hand it is not too big to give all participating artists a possibility to have a prominent presence in NOVA.
NOVA 1.0 contains core information for professional visitors: artists info, videos, news and projects. The artists maintain their own info, upload new artworks and publish news of their recent shows or screenings. This way the information is available to the public real time. NOVA is directed mainly for international curators, galleries, museums, journalists, researchers, collectors and connoisseurs’ of video, -media art and experimental cinema.
It can also be used for educational purposes by art schools or any other level of education as a source of Nordic art online.
The artists are selected through a open call by FixC cooperative in Finland, 700IS in Iceland and Formverk (art zone) in Sweden.
Each organisation will ensure that the artists selected will be of high artistic standard and will represent outstanding quality and talent in their field, take care of the necessary agreements between artists and NOVA and will utilize their networks for promoting NOVA internationally.
